Dell 1100mp Projector Vista Problem

We are using the Dell 1100mp projector, and on a system with Vista as the OS, we are finding that the handheld-remote will no longer advance to the next screen while running a powerpoint presentation. We have had this projector for years on XP and never had this problem.

Does anyone know what might be causing this?
