controling projector with rj45

Hi, 

For a museum setting, I would like to switch a couple of beamers on and off from a central computer.

I can do this with the rs232 coinnector, but would prefer a rj45 network solution.

I did find how to control the beamer with a web interface, but I want to write my own software and just send some commands to a IP address to get the beamer on or off.

Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, what kind of commands do i have to send?
