Connecting to an Optiplex 755
I have a new desktop Optiplex 755 computer and I need to connect it to my Hitachi LCD projector. I will need a 15 ft VGA cable and I to see the desktop screen image all-the-time even when the projector is off. Will a y-splitter work or an extra video card better?

Hi pricep,
Can you give a bit more information about your setup please?
e.g. Which version of Dell Optiplex 755 do you have? Mini Tower? Desktop? Small Form Factor? Ultra Small Form Factor?
- <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell> shows the differences.
Also what operating system are you trying to use? Windows Vista? Windows XP?
If it is some sort of Windows, and your display card supports 2 displays (which you should be able to check through the Windows control panel) then you can do what you want.
- I do this at church using a Dell Inspirion 1501 laptop running Vista, and also an Inspirion 2200 running XP.
Thoughts?
Regards,
Tony
