Component & VGA to 2400MP

I read the spec page at Dell that says "Full connectivity — Supports PC, S-video, composite video, component video via VGA and RS-232 connectors," and I thought that Dell used this Mini-DIN RS232 connector to accept component video, as they didn't mention USB or video out. As such, I bought the projector, and I found out after an hour on the phone with Dell that component video is not an option over that connector. Now I have to figure out a cost effective way to switch between component video out from devices with the 3 RCA set and VGA. I really need to have the HD signal input sometimes and XGA input at other times. This projector will be placed on a ceiling and I can't plug and un-plug cables to make this happen. Does anyone know a way to do this? Thanks!
