4100mp remote problems

Hello all, I am an educator for a Fire/EMS service. They have a 4100mp projector in their class room. The projector works fine with my laptop that is running Vista Home, however, the remote will not work as a wireless pointer device. My machine recognizes the usb as a generic usb hub but is unable to start it. Just wondering if this is a Vista issue. The administrators of the service tell me that the projector worked fine for their last educator and his laptop, this was sometime ago and was more than likely running XP. Any input would be great. Thanks for your time. John

kzmedic871,

Does this issue (generic usb hub but is unable to start) occur when you tried connecting the projector USB cable to all of the computers USB ports?

Yes, I get the same message when plugged in to any of the usb ports.

Just got back the results, below are their notes -
They have managed to find a 4100MP projector, connected to a notebook (installed with Win Vista OS) via USB cable for remote mouse control and tested out that working fine. The customer issue could be caused by the USB controller of his notebook. Please advise customer to download new USB controller driver and try it out. When user plug in USB cable to PC from projector, the Vista will automatically install the corresponding driver, and the user could observe two HID devices will be pop up, one is keyboard and the other is mouse.
