4100mp power button does not work, please help

my 4100mp recently just stop powering on.  whenever i plug the ac in, "standby" appears in the LCD and the powerbutton flashes blue.  but whenever i push the power button to turn the projector on, nothing happens.  no other indicator lights are on and the LCD just reads "Standby"  dell technical support says that it is in suspend mode but i tried holding the power button for 2-4 secs to get it out of suspend mode but nothing happened either.  if someone has experienced this and knows how to get the projector to power on again please let me know.  thank you.
