3400 MP - White vertical bar on screen

Question

I have a 3400 MP and have found that there is a bright white vertical bar on the left side of the image about a quarter of the way across.  Has anybody seen this before and is there anything I can do to get rid of it.  The projector only gets hooked up to  a laptop.

Is the white vertical bar present when the 3400MP is on but not connected to the notebook?

The 3400MP Projector provides a self-diagnostic test of the projectors video display (for Video, S-video, Component).
* After turning on the projector, press + and - buttons on the control panel simultaneously and release the buttons when the screen goes blank
* While in Self-diagnostic mode, the screen will run a seven color cycle test as following:
Red-- Green-- Blue-- White-- Watchet Blue-- Dark Green-- Yellow
* Ensure that the colors of the test pattern are correct
* Press + and - buttons again to exit the diagnostic mode

Thanks for the info.  I tried the self test and found that the white bar was present in all colours.  The the only difference was in the Dark Green colour the bar was wavering in all other colours it was solid and clear.  I did note that sometimes the bar would disappear and then reappear.  It always disappeared and reappeared on the Dark Green screen.  Any help or insight would be appreciated.   Keith
