2400MP Turn off via remote

Question

I have a 2400MP projector mounted from a high ceiling. I cannot turn the projector completely off via the remote.  The blue power light flashes when I try to power off. What am I doing wrong?

The power light is flashing very infrequently/slowly, eh? This is as turned off as the projector can do, I think. Unless you pull the plug on the projector, it will continue drawing minuscule amount of power and show this by blinking.

Wel I assume this is standby mode. Can it be left this way all the time?

I had my 3200MP plugged in like that for months on end -- the projector was used in my classroom. No ill effect came out of it.
