2400MP Cutting Off

I have several 2400MP projectors used in a school setting that are randomly turning themselves off and showing only a yellow light on the power button.  The power button can be pressed to turn off the yellow light, then immediately pressed again to turn it back on and it works for a little longer.  Thinking that this might be an overheating issue, they were left off for several days, and within a few minutes of using turned itself back off with the yellow light.  The projectors are mounted on the ceiling, so getting a ladder to climb up every few minutes to power cycle is a great inconvience.

Any ideas?  Thanks for your help!

LCSTech,

Are they still under warranty?

* Power the projector off
* Unplug the projector
* Open the Lamp Module cover on the bottom of the projector (remove the screws)
* Use a can of compressed air (ie.air duster) to blow out all the accumulated dust on the bulb and bulb surroundings. Do not touch the bulb with your hands
* Replace the cover and screws

Unit is dust free, blowing them out was the first thig done.   Still same issue.  Yes, they are still under warranty.

I use 2 x 2400MP's in my office and they both suffer from the same problem where after some time being on they will cut out and display the orange bulb light.  Unplugging the projector and plugging it back in lets you start it up again.  I've tried using brand new bulb's so I know they don't need changing.

Any ideas??

Gunnermatt,

If under warranty, get them replaced.
