2300mp....GREEN HALO effect

We bought our Dell 2300MP projector about a year ago...just in time for the warranty to expire ( of course ) and just before it expired, the lamp died.  It didn't have the 2500 hours on it....but,  we felt like we had gotten at least half of it's life ( probably 1300 if I remember correctly.  When it finally became so dark, we could no longer tell Bill O'Reilly from the Croc Hunter,  we bit the bullet and bought a new lamp!  Our new lamp came and we plugged in the projector all excited to watch a movie for the first time in a long time!  We were only excited for about 5 minutes,  when we noticed the lamp we had just bought seemed to already be having the same problems as our first one!  After getting the 2nd lamp in and ready to roll....we tried again and had the same green halo and blotchy faced people that we had with the 1st one.  We decided it must be the projector!  Can someone help me figure out what's going on with this projector?  After reading the forum and seeing all the problems the 2300 is having....I feel just SICK!  My husband is in the military and we move around alot so I figured the projector would be a great solution for not having to lug around a big screen tv!  Since it was my idea to buy the projector....I'm feeling guilty that we didn't just buy a big tv!  If there is an easy fix for this problem,  I would LOVE to hear it!  Thanks so much!
