2300MP noise
Hi all,
My wife and I have a Dell 2300MP. We're very happy with the picture quality and brightness. It performs trouble free (100% reliability).
Our only complaint is a high pitched noise. We hear this periodically and it stops immediately when we turn the projector off; the fan continues to cool the bulb.
Any idea what this noise is? Perhaps this projector have more than one fan?

I reckon that high pitch is the electronic noise. Many brands and models emit similar type of noise, although Dell's noise seems most conspicuous. The noise is most uncomfortable when the projector first starts up, and I can only hope that you will grow used to it after the projector has warmed up. There hasn't been documented solutions to the noise problem on this forum.
Supplemental: The word on the street is that the lamp creates this noise while warming up. Getting a new lamp is rumored to get rid of the noise, but a high-end UPS (uninterrupted power supply) is said to produce a better result while at the same time protecting your projector.
