2300mp flashes colors then off

So i have had this 2300mp for a year now just out of warranty and the bulb has about 850 hrs. on it. I have recently started having this issue where it will run for about 3 to 5 minutes then start flashing different colors on the screen, turning the whole tint of the screen to blue then red then green then flashing them all over the screen until the image goes dark then shuts off the projector and gives me a lamp error. I would think this might just be a bulb issue except that I can unplug it and plug it back on and it will come on for another 5 minutes and do it again.

I hope this is just a sign of a shorting out bulb but i am thinking it is not. I dusted out everything inside I could find, anyone have any ideas of what may be causing this?
