2300 Projector overheating
Sorry if this has been covered already but just new and finding my way about.
I have a 2300 projector which gives the onscreen error "projector overheating" I've read a couple of threads which suggest contacting Dell for a replacement but mine is over a year old & warranty expired. can someone advise me if this is something they'll still cover with it being what appears to be a defective unit?
thanks

No answer yet? I have a 2300MP that sometimes will not start. The lamp begins to light and then dies. It usually happens according to Murphy's law, at the worst possible time when I need the projector most. It will work great for 10 times in a row and then it just refueses to light up. Sometimes the lamp light will come on as well. The only solution which does not always work is to unplug the projector and plug it in again. On one occasion it finally came on after about 6 tries. Either there is dust in the system or there is a defect in this projector. I'd like to know where to send it to get it fixed.
Thanks,
Roger

Clean the fan exhaust. The proj. could be sensing a reduced air flow. Make sure the fan exhaust has nothing blocking it, like a book on the desk. Does the projector have service tag on it? If so you might be able to go to the dell support site and check for warranty status.
