2300 mp projector

I recently had a bulb to shatter in my dell 2300 mp projector.  I have had the projector a couple of years but I use it in my classroom.  I don't use it everyday so I didn't think it should be time for a new bulb.  When I install a new bulb and checked the bulb had 436 hours on it.  Is this normal when the bulb is suppose to last for 2000 hours approximately?  I didn't know if dell would stand good for the bulb or not?

Thanks

We have 2200, 2300, and 2400's on our campus. Only a couple have failed that early. Is the projector subject to bumping or rough handling? Some users occasionally yank the power cord to avoid the cool-down cycle, and this will lead to premature failure.

Welcome to the forums.

There are several things that can cause a bulb to shatter, moisture, oil from someone's fingers causing a hot spot..Etc

Its a good idea if you have a question not related to the original post to start your own thread. There is a reason for the cool down cycle so I would encourage your users to allow the projector to shut down normally.
