1800MP Reduce picture size according to resolution.

the 1800mp has a native resolution of 1024x768. if the source signal has a lower resolution, e.g. 720x576 for pal video, the source picture is stretched to fill the full 1024x768 projection area.

is there a way to reduce the projection area to the resolution of the incoming signal (e.g. 720x576) with a black frame, to avoid stretching?

by default, using the stretching, i have constant size with variable quality, but i would prefere constant quality with variable size, so that each pixel of the incoming signal fits 1 pixel of the diplayed picture.

how can i do this?

Bongo,

Maybe you can try going to setup in the menu tab and choose Aspect Ratio of 1:1.
The input source will displays without scaling.

dixon,

hm, i don't know if we understand...

according to my understanding, the aspect ratio is the relation between horizontal and vertical scaling, i.e. the picture will be stretched the same factor in both directions with aspect ratio set to 1:1.

is this interpreted by dell in a different way?
