1610HD and 120Hz/3D support

Hello,

I purchased a 1610HD projector a few months ago as the Dell website claimed it could run at 120 Hz for active stereo 3D. I already had an S300 projector which worked fine with 3D. The 1610HD couldn't run at 120Hz however,  according to the EDID it could only run at 60 HZ at 1280x720, the resolution the manual says it shold run at 120Hz.

For over two months now I have been going back and forth with Dell tech support with them being adamant that the projector should run at 120 Hz.  After many frustrating phone calls I was sent another projector which did exactly the same as the first.  A technician was sent here to capture both projectors' EDID - with the same results as I obtained.

After I had trouble with my projector I noticed that the Dell USA site stopped had claiming that the projector was 3D capable which seemed to indicate the specs were changed from what was initially planned. The S300 is still  identified as 3D capable and indeed I have no trouble running my S300 at 120 Hz.

A google search revealed a couple of others who said that they couldn't get 120Hz out of a 1610HD, I saw someone posted the EDID from their projector and it agreed with mine - only capable of 60Hz @ 1280x720. Someone said Dell refunded them due to 120Hz not working.

I'm now told that some Dell section in China are specially selecting a projector for me or such as a replacement, and I can expect a new one to be sent in a few weeks.  The Dell Australian website still claims that the 1610HD is "3D ready", but the two I've seen certainly are not if this is supposed to mean they run at 120Hz!

Does ayone know what the story is with the 1610HD projector and 3D/120Hz support?

Peter

After giving me one replacement that didn't work either Dell ended up giving me a 6 month old 1610HD which did support 120Hz but it still wasn't 3D Vision certified of course.  It would be nice if someone from Dell could explain why this projector and the S300 aren't  NVIDIA certified as Dell sells the NVIDIA 3D vision kits.

what really disappointed me is that i have buy it because they said was 3D ready

and when i ask the customer service why don't works they reply me i must change hdmi cable

i have like 20 hdmi cable and no one work with that

Now my last resort is that i try with 3D-XL but already someone in france said that 1510X don t work  with that.

Customer service tell me that if don t work with that they will change my projector

Btw i let you know if i can use it
