Unable to see font color changes on excel, word, google sheets

I have a dell xps bought in 2019. When I change font colors in either excel, word, or even google sheets, the color still remains black although when i back these files to carbonite the correct colors are shown. Somehow, my cuew of the finrs in laptop is always in black font in the cells .

any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated
