Sonic Wall update is being blocked by Dell Data Protection. Cant uninstal lDDP

I have a Dell Optiplex 790 with Sonic Wall Antivirus/spyware installed.  When it tries to update it comes up with a software conflict error.   Conflicting application is detected.  Application name: Wave Systems Corp.  Please uninstall.

Of course the Wave system is traced back to the Dell Data Protection application.  I try to uninstall it through the Add/Remove programs and it fails with this error. "This program requires Dell Data Protection .  Access  . Middleware package in order to continue."  

Any ideas about how to remove the DDP?
