Office 2016 apps appear in every profile

Hi,

Our company started purchasing new Optiplex 7050 computers shipped with Windows 10 x64 and we found out that it comes with Office 2016 CTR which I am assuming is a trial version.

Now we tried to uninstall them under admin while setting up the computer but realized that every new profile created for each user that logs in, it still shows up in Start menu.

I've searched and tried both the below links and failed. The Fixit tool removes ALL office editions and when I reinstall my desired office version and login a new user on it, the 2016 apps are there once again.

I have the same problem with Latitude 7280. There must be some bits left of the bundled Office 2016.

This leads to another problem: I can't activate my Office 2016 Pro Plus (volume licensing.) It asks for Microsoft account.

I'm having this exact same issue. What a nightmare! I can't seem to completely uninstall the Office demo that comes with my Optiplex 3050s and the demo serial number has to be manually removed or it messes up my volume license Office 2016 install.

If either of you managed to find a way to completely purge the Office files that magically come back in every new profile, please share. Thanks!

I was able to get around the volume license activation issue by deactivating the pre-installed trial key. Run this command at the command prompt (your path may vary):

c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16\cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:KHGM9

After that, the activation prompts and microsoft account nags went away.
