MS Office Home and Student 2021 License key

Hi

Initially I would use Belarc Advisor and print out / screen shot all the licence and configuration details that you can.

Then obviously use LibreOffice whilst waiting to resolve your licence issue.

I want a proper license that is offered with the laptop instead of using a workaround. 

I hope to receive an update from dell support soon.

It is not a work-a-round.

Belarc Advisor is very useful.

LibreOffice can out perform Microsoft Office in certain areas.

I have a copy of it's predecessor OpenOffice, because it does things that my copy of MS Office can't or wont.

Am I correct that you purchased your MS Office Student and Home 2021 license from Dell at the same time you purchased your new Vostro 5640?  If so see the Dell support article How to Find and Activate Microsoft Office 2019, 2021, 2024 or 365 on Your Dell Computer.

Note that I purchased my own MS Office Home and Business 2019 Click-to-Run license from an authorized retailer called BestBuy (i.e., my license was not purchased from Dell) and before I installed MS Office 2019 on my (then) new Inspiron 5584 laptop I wiped off the 30-day trial of Microsoft 365 that was installed at the factory using the Microsoft Office Removal Tool (SetupProd_OffScrub.exe) as instructed in the Microsoft support article Uninstall Office From a PC [i.e., click the blue Uninstall button under the second option titled "Uninstall Microsoft 365 or Office with the uninstall troubleshooter" and follow the instructions].
 

If I need to reinstall my MS Office software then I can do so from the Services & Subscriptions tab of my Microsoft Account at https://account.microsoft.com/services/. My product key used to be shown there on the Services & Subscriptions tab, but in theory all I would need to do now to re-activate a fresh installation is open an office app like Excel or Word and sign in to my Microsoft Account. How you install and activate / re-activate Microsoft Office can vary depending on the product you own - see the MS support article Activate Office.
