Ms office activation 21 first time activation on my new Inspiron 5440 and Dell techs unable to activate Office 2021

Just bought an Inspiron 14 5440 laptop with MS home and office 2021 "preinstalled" 

I am writing to bring to your attention an ongoing issue regarding the activation of my Microsoft Office license (ongoing<Private data removed from public view. DELL-Admin> since 7 days ) on my new Dell Inspiron 14 5420 laptop.
Despite multiple remote sessions with the Dell support team, the issue remains unresolved.

While the support team has attempted to address the issue by uninstalling and reinstalling Office, the license remains inactivated. checking my dell digital locker (empty), my MS account (again no record).I have been consistently requested to provide a 48-hour window for an internal team to work on the issue, but I have yet to receive any updates or follow-up communication from the internal team via phone or email even after 48 hours . This service request has been open since 7 days now and the team don't bother to call or email . Every time i have to initiate the chat or call them.

I am concerned that the lack of ownership and follow-through on this case is causing unnecessary delays. Each time I connect with support, I am asked to repeat the details of my case, which is frustrating and inefficient.

I tried calling order support team to return my laptop and they hung up the call. I have never experienced a pathetic customer support team .

NOTE: My Microsoft Office 2019 C2R software was purchased from Best Buy Canada (i.e., it was not purchased via Dell)

Hey Imacri , Troubleshooting steps provided in those document is not helpful . Office home and student  2021 was included in the laptop purchase via Dell . 

All the software that was included with the device on a new purchase has to be in Dell Digital locker. The problem here is office license is not available in my Dell digital locker . Until that is done it fill not fix the issue.

Then I doubt I'll be able to help. Hopefully @DELL-Chris M or one of the other Dell employees will respond and be able to connect you with someone in 2nd-tier support for further investigation.

Unfortunately, KAMAKSHIGLOBAL is reporting the same problem in their 24-Aug-2024 topic MS Office 2021 Activation and states "MS tech tried everything to fix and in the end they informed me by email that the manufacturer has not done the binding of ms office with my device" so Dell seems to be pointing the finger at Microsoft in that instance.

As I noted before, I purchased my own MS Office Home and Business 2019 Click-to-Run license from an authorized retailer (i.e., my license was not purchased from Dell) so if I need to reinstall my MS Office software then I can do so from the Services & Subscriptions tab of my Microsoft Account at https://account.microsoft.com/services/. However, your original post indicates you've already logged in there and confirmed your license information has not been uploaded there.

The Dell support article How to Find and Activate Microsoft Office 2019, 2021, or 365 on Your Dell Computer is another good resource but I would hope that Dell customer support has already suggested you try the instructions posted in that support article.

@junaid3929 There was an outage on the backend, we fixed it so Office should be getting activated now. Please try to activate Office again.
