Inspiron G7, Mobile Connect and CPU
I'm, using a Inspiron G7 laptop with a 9th gen I7, at 2245 tonight and just surfing the news. In the background, I hear the fans start, and think it must be another Windows update. Got absorbed in a couple of news articles, then hear fans go even higher. Nothing much running to do this, so I open task manager. Sorted Task Manager by CPU and Dell Mobile Connect is using almost 40% of my CPU. Task manager and browser are using about 2% CPU combined. Checked to see what Mobile Connect is, since I never used it or opened it. All this time Mobile Connect is doing something, but I don't know what. Stopped the services for Mobile Connect. Fans drop to normal almost immediately. Samsung Magician shows my 1TB NVME is over heated at about 61C. A few minutes later the temp on my SSD drops to 43C which I see as a normal range for my machine. I've since uninstalled Mobile Connect and no more problems like this. ? What was Mobile Connect doing for about 10 minutes?
