Images in Word have Place holders, but no Image--And other products.

I noticed that in CorelDraw and Microsoft Word, images need refreshing. In CorelDraw, I delete an image, but it remains until I scroll in an out. In Microsoft Word the pictures have place holders (little square in the corners), but are not visible, I have to do something like hover my cursor over "styles" to see the image.

I have updated my graphics card with a custom install completely removing the old driver, and I have uninstalled Word and Corel. I have a 1080 NVIDIA graphics card.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
