I do not want to go back to the old.

By the nature of my work, I work at Microsoft Project to streamline the numerous reports and the changing characteristics of the turnover. I used the version of 2013 for a long time, until I had to change all the equipment and at the same time update the software. At the same time, some objects in the updated Project now open with an error. What to do? I do not want to go back to the old.

We have a software section for non hardware problems.  You may want to repost there.  But, its not a "Dell" problem (If you had an HP or Acer or whatever brand it would be the same), the problem is with the Microsoft application or how it handles older files.

Re-create a whole new file from the recover ms project file:

  1. Open a new blank project file
  2. Go to Insert/Project and insert the problem file.
  3. Select the first task which will be the insertion point summary line.
  4. Go to Project/Task Information/Advanced tab.
  5. Uncheck the "Link to Project" button and hit "OK".
  6. If the file isn't already expanded, expand it.
  7. Select all tasks below the top level summary line.
  8. Outdent the selected tasks.
  9. Delete the first task which previously was a summary line.
  10. Save the resulting file.
