How to retrieve data from a dead laptop (Inspiron 5515)

To whom it may concern, my laptop is dead. I was asked by your representative to backup my data before I mail it to you for repair. Should I use a plugable SSD enclosure to do the job? Can you advice which model of the plugable I should use?
