How Do I Transfer Email settings from Old Desktop to New Tbird?
I followed a help file to transfer all of Thunderbird from a old desktop to a new desktop. The 38 email addresses was successfully transferred.
Now I would like to transfer all the settings for each of the 38 email addresses so I don't have rebuild all 38 email addresses that should contain all the needed data to go to mail servers, login, get mail and back out.
NOTE:
Every email address has different settings, such as login ID to get mail, and other settings such as Signature and so on.
TIA,
~r

Hi and thanks for the help,
All but ID and Passwords copied just fine.
I'll look to see what file contains that stuff, and see if if it copied. I think not.

Make sure "show hidden files" are showing in File Explorer.
Close Thunderbird.
Go to "C:\Users\login name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird.
Delete the "Thunderbird" folder on the new PC. Copy the same folder from the old PC there.
Start Thunderbird. Every single thing. Emails, Accounts, Setting, Address Books, should all be there.

Every single thing should be the same with your Thunderbird email. That folder contains everything.
"C:\Users\login name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird"
Not sure what you mean ID and passwords didn't copy? The only "ID and password" that would be there is for your email.
If Thunderbird doesn't look ACTUALLY like it did on the old PC you did something wrong. Make sure the version # was the same for each PC.
Your internet browser would be the one that saved all your website ID's and Passwords. If that's what you are talking about.
