Uninstall System Detect in Add-Remove Programs since it might not be the correct version for your model. It might not even exist. You should have mentioned your computer model and OS. I don't see anything in these directions about needing System Detect but you do need the Dell Recovery Tool-

If you have upgraded windows use the MS Create Media tool to reinstall Windows instead--

Hi, well i may have described it all wrong - I couldn't even install it in the first place (DSD)! When I launch installer I get this message. I currently have Windows 7 64bit installed and I want to download OS image that is connected with my device which is Dell Optiplex 3010. Without runninng DSD I cannot download OS image (Dell Recovery Image) to re-install the OS on my computer from scratch.
I will try to use that MS Create Media and Dell Recovery Tool

I had the same problem with DSD Launcher; whenever I download it and run it says "improperly formatted"; Until I installed Microsoft .Net framework, after that It worked fine.

I found it, you have to install .Net Framework 4.5 or higher, it worked for me.

Agree with Victor23 ,but i noticed. With windows 7 combine dotnet framwork 3.5.You must be install direct dotnet framework 4.5, If install dotnet framework 4.0 will not woking. Also, install dotnet 4.0 THEN INSTALL DOTNET 4.5 will don't work property.

Indeed installing .net 4.5 is the solution.

well this is kind of stupid, dell produced all these computers with Winxp and when a person enters their service tag and is seeking drivers or to update their configuration on the website, dell has produced a system detect software that wont detect these systems! because you need .net framework 4.5 which wont work on a winxp system! How moronic is that? they should also still have a system detect that works on all these winxp systems they made!
