DELL Command | Update - does not execute bios update by Intune Policy
Hi all,
I’ve set up a configuration profile in Intune for Dell Command | Update to automate updates for a test/pilot group. The policy includes enabling BIOS updates along with firmware, drivers, and other necessary settings (see attached screenshot).
Current configuration highlights:
BIOS Updates: Enabled
Firmware Updates: Enabled
Hardware Drivers: Enabled
Installation Deferral / System Restart Deferral: Enabled
All other optional and non-essential updates: Disabled
Notifications: Disabled (to keep it silent)
Despite the settings, the BIOS update is not being executed when Dell Command | Update runs on the client. Firmware and driver updates seem to apply fine, but the BIOS update is simply skipped without any error message.
I’ve verified that:
The device is on AC power.
The update is available if I run Dell Command | Update manually on the device.
Question:
Has anyone successfully managed to execute BIOS updates through Intune with Dell Command | Update? Are there any hidden prerequisites or settings missing that could block the BIOS update?
Thanks in advance!
