XPS13 and Lexmark Pro901 - Problem

I have two XPS13 Win 7 - 64 machines.

Both are having issues printing wifi to Lexmark Pro901.

I have different brand machines that are using the same Lexmark client drivers and have no issue.

Limited to the XPS machines.

Problem

First time computer is started I can print something without issue. The second request will hang indefinitely.

Watching the print queue is seems the document spools completely, judging by the document spool size, but the printer

will initialize and start to print but then stops and will never complete.

Requires the print jobs to be deleted and then the machine restarted. Once the client machine is restarted

the hung print job releases. The issue described above will then repeat.

Steps Taken

Lexmark printer Firmware updated

Lexmark Client Driver updated

Dell wifi drivers updated

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

xps13-2,

On each system, run Delete Print Jobs to remove stuck print jobs from the queue, then restart your computer.

In the December batch of Windows Updates, Microsoft installed Internet Explorer 11. IE11 had been causing printer problems.

Open Internet Explorer, click on Help, then click on About Internet Explorer. It should show the version there. If you have IE11, then go to control panel, Windows Update, Installed Updates, look for Internet Explorer 11. Click on Internet Explorer 11, uninstall.

Restart the computer, when prompted. Then see if your printer works.

Thank you very much.

That seems to be the issue. Rolled back to 10 and is working.

You can also turn off the balloon tips for the printer and this will allow the printer to work normally.

(Right click) Start, control panel, devices and printer, your printer, printing preferences, advanced, more options. Tell it to never show.
