V313w - solid orange light

I cannot get my V313w to communicate with my Netgear router. The light is solid orange despite the fact that I moved the printer to less than a foot from the router.

I updated the firmware to the latest version hoping that this would resolve it but it has not.

The router is a WNDR3300 running dd-wrt in mixed mode on channel 6.

The printer also will not connect to my repeater, which is a Netgear WN2000RPT running stock firmware.

Please help.

Michael_CF,

Try using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11. I would make a new SSID to make connecting easier.

Run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs in the queue.

Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected.

Start, control panel, programs and features, Dell V313w printer, uninstall.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

With the computer online, insert the printer disk, choose new installation, network and follow the instrutions. You'll be prompted to connect the printer and select your network and enter your password. Ehen you're done, you'll be prompted to disconnect the usb cable and the network adapter will then take over and be green.

For aditional computer, follow the procedure and choose aditional computer.

More info:

I tried setting the router to B/G (mixed mode mentioned before is B/G/N) but this made no difference. I've tried setting the channel to 1 or auto but this made no difference either. I have enough IP space available (set number of clients to 50) and still this made no difference.

Michael_CF,

Was the printer connected to your network before?

Make and model of your wireless router and the type of security you're using? What channel?

I've also tried setting the encryption to TKIP with no luck.

Yes, it's been able to connect in the past. We shelved the printer for a while when we started to use another one. Just got around to needing a wireless printer again, so..

The router is a Netgear WNDR3300 using WPA2 with AES. I have the router set to AUTO on the channel and it's currently sitting on channel 7.

The thing is, the printer acts like it doesn't see the network SSID, despite it being broadcast.

I cannot recall if I was running dd-wrt on the router when the printer was able to connect in the past. I may have been running the stock firmware, but that shouldn't make a difference. All of the other devices on my network - including two Nintendo 3DS' - can see the SSID and connect.

Thanks.

Holy cow it worked! Uninstalling the software from my laptop and then reinstalling did the trick!

Thank you!
