V313W Scan Issue

Cannot scan, either to the computer or to an email from this all in one. I can print to it but cannot scan and Dell Technical Support is of little or no help since the printer is out of warranty (even tho I am willing to pay for support)!

Can anyone suggest a fix?

Did you install the OCR Program from the printer disk?

As for scanning, if you have the disk that came with the printer, then insert the Printer disk and stop it from running. Go to My Computer and double click on it. Look for the drive with the Dell disk in it. Right click on it, left click explore. Look for the OCR Folder. In the OCR Folder, there is an Abbyy Folder. Right click on setup.exe, that's in the Abbyy Folder and left click run as administrator. This will install the OCR program.

When I open the DPH,click 'Scanning and Copying tab,'Advanced", nothing happens.

There are apparently missing links that are supposed to direct me to additional actions that are not there. How do I fix?

Also, when I click My Computer, Dell, there is no OCR folder so obviously, there is no ABBYY folder with no setup.exe file.

The OCR Program is on the Dell Printers Disk(comes with the printer).

I am unable to locate the original disc that came with the printer; is the OCR program downloadable?
