V313w cannot connect to Win 8 computer
I tried to download the drivers for this printer/all in one and when I try to install the it on the computer it can't seem to find the computer on the network. The device shows up in the device list but I am not allowed to select it and I can't scan a document to the windows 8 computer.

thexphial,
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue.
Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected.
Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, programs and features, Dell V313w Printer, uninstall.
Restart your computer.
Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
With the computer online, insert the Dell V313w Printer disk, choose additional computer, network and follow the instructions. It should ask for the printer. Avast should not be a problem.

No, this does not help me. The actual problem is that the computer doesn't show up on the setup network even though the computer can detect it on the network when I look for it other ways.

thexphial,
Is the printer wired or wireless? If wireless, does the printer have a WiFi light? If yes, what color is the light?
What virus program and firewall are you using?

thexphial,
If you have a desktop computer that's plugged in to the wireless router, then desktop can print using the network, no cable needed.
