V313 All-in-one won't scan after upgrading to Yosemite on Mac

I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to Yosemite and just discovered that I cannot scan with my dell V313 any more.

It was working just fine before the upgrade so I think it's because the driver is no longer compatible with the new OS.

Is there any new driver available? I searched high and low for any information on this but haven't been successful so far.

Please help!

Sahki,

The printer would be a Lexmark S300-S400 Series for a Mac computer, if you can install it.

If you have the printer disk, Not sure how to do this on a Mac but the OCR Program, needed to scan, Fax is on the printer disk. The instructions for a Windows Operating system to install the OCR Program are...

As for scanning, if you have the disk that came with the printer, then insert the Printer disk and stop it from running. Go to My Computer and double click on it. Look for the drive with the Dell disk in it. Right click on it, left click explore. Look for the OCR Folder. In the OCR Folder, there is an Abbyy Folder. right click on setup.exe, that's in the Abbyy Folder and left click run as administrator. This will install the OCR program.

I just downloaded a driver called 'DELL V310-V510 Series 2 from http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=T13Y4&fileId=2905994913

and could scan again!

Thank you Rick for your help.

Sahki,

If you think this could be a driver issue, your printer was made for Dell by Lexmark. You may be able to find a driver there.

The only drivers that other Mac users have located for me and said they worked are...

(Mac Os X 10.7 Lion Driver)(Lexmark S300-S400 Series)

Hopefully your Wireless router is using channels 1, 6 or 11 and not on automatic. I prefer channel 11.

Hi Rick,

Thank you for your reply.

I tried downloading from the link you kindly added, however, it doesn't seem to work with my printer.

My printer is not wireless and I use it mainly to scan and maybe that's why it doesn't work.

Thank you all the same for your post!
