S2830dn - uninstall duplex feature

I'm having trouble with the double sided printing settings for this printer. One of the programs we use in our office will override all settings and print to duplex even if not selected.  The only resolution I can find to this problem is to disable the duplex feature on the printer. This would work fine, but the printer will randomly turn the feature back on. I've had to repeatedly changed the settings to disable the duplex feature in the control panel, but nothing I change will retain the settings. 

I need to permanently disable or uninstall the duplex feature so the printer will stop turning it back on and printing doubled sided jobs.

Any help to override would be greatly appreciated.
