Hi Jonmy,
Sorry for the delayed response, indeed it took time in trying to find the fix. From the troubleshooting perspective this is the most we can do to fix the problem. Does your printer have an active warranty? You can check the warranty status here (Enter the service tag, click submit and check for the warranty status). If you want to know more about warranty services watch this video. In case of expired warranty scenario, we would not be able to provide warranty entitled services. If the warranty on the printer has expired, you may contact our Expired Warranty Services (this is for US based customers).

Hi Zohaib,
Many thanks for your response. I only purchased the printer in April this year so will get on to the supplier.
Having experimented with various settings you might like to know that this over printing is only happening on paper of over 80 grams and it sounds as thought the throughput of the thicker paper is being slightly delayed by the printer mechanism. It is very faint on 120 gram paper put more pronounced on 160 gram.
I am in the UK by the way.

Hi Zohaib,
Having spent some considerable time with the support team yesterday, they advised me that the machine would not do paper over 105 g/m2 but having now looked at the specification that you have sent, this tells me differently.
I have had a look at the print set-up and realised that I can specify "covers" which go up to 163 g/m2. Having done this, the printer now prints perfectly on my 160 g/m2 card.
Many thanks for all your help and helping me solve the problem. I am a little disappointed that Dell's "expert" ladies on the telephone did not see that I was not, in fact, using the machine correctly in this instance. We all live and learn I hope!
Cheers,
John
