printer partially prints or doesn't print at all

This is on ongoing printing problem, which I can correct briefly by following instructions in this forum to uninstall, download and install drivers, and reinstall. I have done this several times but as I said it works for only a little while.

I have a Dell AIO 926 printer, a Dimension E521 desktop, 32-bit, and Windows Vista home premium. My printer spits out a blank page or prints a partial page, or occasionally after several tries it might print properly. I am fed up with wasting paper and ink or going thru the uninstalling/installing tedium, and would really like to correct this problem once and for all. If anyone out there can help I'd be extremely grateful.
