Printer is few meters away from laptop docking station, how can I connect USB?
I would need perhaps 4-5m long USB cable to connect the laptop docking station to the printer at home. The USB cable is too short. Using Ethernet is not an option simply put. I can't move the laptop docking station closer to the printer or the printer closer to the docking station. ion-battery
So my question is, how can I fix this problem? Isn't there a maximum length on USB cables (as per its standard) which means we can't have a 4-5m long cable working reliably?

USB 2.0 Printer Cable 20 FT Akoada
No there is no maximum length as such. Yes standards say that 3 meters and if going beyond that Mark use an active cable. However it mostly depends of the Quality of cable.
The one above comes with a 30 day return so no harm is trying
