printer hangs after first job
Dell printer V310-V510 series hangs after first print job. Posted this on a Microsoft forum - tried turning off printer, stop/start spooler, delete documents in spool/printers directory. A posting on this Dell forum site from 12/2013 indicates IE 11 causes this issue. Has anyone verified that IE 11 is a problem?. I tried to uninstall IE 11 to test but it could not uninstall from a Windows 7 laptop. Printer works fine with a Windows XP machine and use to work previously from the Windows 7 laptop running IE 9
I also have a relative with a Windows 8 running IE 11 and an HP printer having a similar issue.
No Events found!

uninstalled IE 11 which did not uninstall at first. HAd to enter admin command line
FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*11.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart"
then restart compuer. It reverted to IE9 Now I can print as many jobs as I want.
Trying to see if I can get the issue reported to both Microsoft and Dell support. They need to talk to eachother and fix this!!

IE 11 is found under "view installed updates" in the uninstall options panel

trying to uninstall failed for me
one recommendation was (I did not try this)
Download System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB947821) [November 2013] from Official Microsoft Download Center It can take a long time to run. It can appear to get stuck. Just let it do its work for a hour or more.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821?wa=wsignin1.0 download and install the System Update Readiness which will repair any errors in Windows Updates.
I did this and it worked:
have you tried it from the command prompt
To forcefully removing IE11 on Windows 7 through command Prompt
1. Open command prompt as administrator.
2. Copy and paste below command and press enter.
FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*11.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart"
If you get an error during the process, ignore it by clicking OK. And when the blinking cursor appears next to C:/Windows/System32, restart your computer.

Since Microsoft released Internet Explorer 11, December 2013, it affected print jobs on the Dell V Series printers. First option is to remove IE11. The other option is to turn off the printers balloon tips.

I went to uninstall, but IE11 is not listed. How do I turn off the printers balloon tips?

Open Internet Explorer, click on Help, then click on About Internet Explorer. It should show the version there. If you have IE11, then go to control panel, Windows Update, Installed Updates, look for Internet Explorer 11. Click on Internet Explorer 11, uninstall.
Start, control panel, devices and printer, your printer, printing preferences, advanced, more options. Tell it to never show. The problem with this setting is you cannot tell if you're low on ink, printer jams, Etc.

I do not see that option with my Dell printer V510 series
is one of the options on this page the one??

I uninstalled IE 11 see previous message on this thread. But if i could still use IE 11 and turn off the printer problem I would.

does not get me to the dialog box you show
right clicking on the printer icon and selecting "printing preferences" is a no-op Double clicking on the printer icon brings up a Dell popup that has option Printer Properties " advanced settings like "User Guide" ,Support", "maintenance etc."
by right clicking on printer icon I can get to a screen that I posted above, that has a " printer properties" then advanced " options but there is not a "never show the printer status window ....."
