P713w refusing printing 2nd document

Hi,

The printer refuses to print more than one document. When having more than one document in the queue, after printing out the first document correctly, the printer feeds the paper for the second document, but then stops. The documents remain in the printer queue.

The printer is connected by USB port.

There is no way to get the documents printed, unless rebooting the computer (Dell Latitude E6540 running Win 7 Professional with Service Pack 1).

I already tried the following: uninstall the Dell printer driver and re-install it again. The problem persists.

Thanks a lot for helping me out here!

Geert,

Try reading...

Allow printer past Trend Micro

The problem is probably because of Internet Explorer 11 interfering with the printer. If turning off the balloon tips did not help and Trend Micro settings are correct, you could try uninstalling IE11 to see if it works.

Open Internet Explorer, click on Help, then click on About Internet Explorer. It should show the version there. If you have IE11, then go to control panel, Windows Update, Installed Updates, look for Internet Explorer 11. Click on Internet Explorer 11, uninstall.

Geert,

Restart your computer and see if the rest of the print job(s) print. If yes, then turn off the balloon tips for the printer.

Start, control panel, devices and printer, your printer, printing preferences, advanced, more options. Tell it to never show. The problem with this setting is you cannot tell if you're low on ink, printer jams, Etc.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for sharing your tips. Sorry to say it did not work out. Here is what I did:

- I turned off the balloon tips for the printer.

- I opened a Word document and printed out 1 page

- I printed out next pages. The printer feeds a blank page and stops. Looking at 'see what's printing', it shows the document name with status 'Printing' (though nothing happens). From here on it is impossible to cancel the print job.

If you have any other suggestion, I will be very happy to try it out.

Geert,

What operating system are you using?

What virus program and firewall are you using?

The problem started with Windows 7 and was carried over to Window 8, 8.1 and Windows 10.

Restarting the computer prints the stuck print job(s) in the queue.

It could be virus program and firewall related.
