I followed the instructions above.  The result was a completely dead printer -- would not turn on or respone to any stimulus.  I unplugged it and let it sit for about 20 minutes; nothing.  Plugged it into a different socket; nothing.  It's just, all of a sudden, dead.

would sure appreciate any help

THANKS!!!!  I have had this problem also! After HOURS with Tech support, on several occasions, I still would not work. Reinstalled all software, etc. Tried these steps, no avail. SO.. I unplugged from AC, Ethernet, and waited until #6 which said PROCESSING finished. THEN I hit OK, and tried various arrows to get back to top level where I finally found the COMPLETE. SO I went thru the same steps 4-7 several times, THEN I did the RESTART. Went thru the restart 3 times, and plugged Ethernet in, and tried to print. IT WORKED!  Printed an Excel worksheet and it worked.  Tech support had me convinced it was my Ethernet card.  THANKS AGAIN!!
