How am I supposed to make sense of the install of the E525w install?
You know, I have been an IT guy for 30+ years on many different printers. The install of the Dell MFP E252w baffles me. Post install, I now have printer destinations for FAX, PCL6, PS for both ip4 and ip6 addresses. ***? I just want one destination for printing, and I want the *** scanner to work all the time.
On top of this, the thing times out after 5 minutes, and I am constantly having to wake it to be recognized on output without errors. How do I fix this mess?
I'm an IT guy and it is driving me nuts. I can only imagine if I installed this on my (non-techie) wife's machine.

Hi flashfearless281,
Thanks for posting.
Have you tried resetting the NVRAM? Here is some information you may find helpful: http://dell.to/2u7r7MT

I had same problem with 968w, And frequently I had to shut down, reboot, more than once to clear the queue..."deleting" forever. So I bought a 525W. Had to get a technician to install ($60) in order to connect to my DELL PC. Prints fine now. BUT the scanner sw did not install after two tries. Guess I will call tech again. Cannot afford to spend hours on phone with Dell trying to solve the results of poor product. Can anyone give me a simple solution.

Its a MS thing. multi-function printers are considered a WSD device in windows OS. That's why you have so many destinations. I am unsure what you mean by having to wake it on "output with errors"? Can you give more detail? I can send a print job just fine to my printer when its in sleep mode.

I wound up uninstalling all remnants of the printer, then reinstalling, only with the Windows 10 drivers and it behaving much better.
