Hi carlalaura,
If you are trying to scan the legal size document to a local computer which is connected with USB cable to printer, follow the below given steps;
1.Load the original document face up into the Automatic Document Feeder or face down on the scanner glass.
2.From the printer control panel navigate to:
Home> Scan >OK > Computer > USB Connected Computer > OK.
The USB connected computer will receive the scan by default.
Note: Make sure the scan software is installed on the destination computer.
3.Press the up or down arrow button to scroll to the scan option you want to set, and then press the left or right arrow button to scroll to the setting you want.
4.Set the color, quality, original image size, and other scan options. If necessary, press “OK” each time you make a selection.
5.Press “Start” on the printer.
If the printer is set up on wireless network with the computer, try the below steps to scan to network computer:
1.Load the original document face up into the Automatic Document Feeder or face down on the scanner glass.
2.From the printer control panel, navigate to: Home> Scan > OK> Computer.
3.Press the left or right arrow button to manually select the name of the destination computer, and then press “OK”.
4.Press the up or down arrow button to scroll to the scan option you want to set, and then press the left or right arrow button to scroll to the setting you want.
5.Set the color, quality, original image size, and other scan options. If necessary, press “OK” each time you make a selection.
6.Press “Start” on the printer.
Notes:
•You may be prompted to enter a PIN if the computer requires it.
•To assign a computer name and a PIN to the computer, see the Help for the printer software associated with your operating system
Try these steps and reply for further help.

Hi carlalaura,
The error “404 File or directory not found” means Internet Explorer is able to connect to the website, but the webpage is not found. This error is sometimes caused because the webpage is temporarily unavailable or because the webpage has been deleted. Try again. Ensure the correct address is given. If it's a link, it could be out of date and no longer available on the website.
Check if you have same problem with any other webpage or web link is working fine.
Please reply for further help,
carlalaura
