Dell V313 only prints after reboot
I have a Dell V313 all in one printer that will only print after I restart the computer.
All the documents are in the queue and they print after the restart. Pretty frustrating.
Any advice? Thanks in advance.

if you have IE 11 installed, uninstall it and your problem should go away.

sup33,
Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system?
In the December batch of Windows Updates, Microsoft installed Internet Explorer 11. IE11 had been causing printer problems.
Open Internet Explorer, click on Help, then click on About Internet Explorer. It should show the version there. If you have IE11, then go to control panel, Windows Update, Installed Updates, look for Internet Explorer 11. Click on Internet Explorer 11, uninstall.
Restart the computer, when prompted. Then see if your printer works.

drgordon13,
Instructions to uninstall IE11.
In the last batch of Windows Updates, Microsoft installed Internet Explorer 11. IE11 had been causing printer problems.

Rick,I am not the original poster, but I used your uninstall IE11 solution to solve the exact same issue that the original poster had. That solved my problem & I wanted to thank you for that.I never would have associated the conflict between IE11 & my printer software.I don't use Internet Explorer as my browser I use Firefox-Two questions I have are,how do I stop windows updates(auto) from installing I.E.again & I now noticed I have I.E.10 in my start menu-Is that ok?-Thanks in advance

tototoov,
Go to Control Panel, Windows Updates.
I have my settings set to...
check for updates and let me choose when to install them.
When you're offered the update, right click on it, left click, hide update and you don't have to worry about that update.

I uninstalled IE 11 from my customer's machine and it broke Windows 7 badly. Had no icons, lots of error messages and it said that AOL had a corrupted Email database. Had to do a system restore to put it back together. I had no IE 11 updates (I should have stopped there) but used the "Turn Windows Features On or Off" dialogue.
So, Windows IE 11 must have been installed with this customer's initial install of Win 7 and not an update.
Any suggestions?

Dr. PC,
Just make sure Windows Updates notifies instead on automatically installing the updates.
I have also seen virus programs an firewalls block communications.

I had the same problem (printer only prints after reboot) with V313W / Win7 / Dell XPS PC. I uninstalled IE11 a few months ago and the fix seemed to work, but now the problem is back again. (And IE11 has not been re-installed)

DBRob,
I first run Delete Print Jobs then restart the computer and see if the printer works.
If that does not work, the only work around I know of, but use as a last resort...
Start, control panel, devices and printers, right click on your printer, printer preferences, Advanced, more options.
Turn off the Balloon notifications.
*****NOTE***** You will NOT get any notifications when the printer is low on ink.
