Dell v305w and Windows 7 - missing Dell Toolbox?
I purchased an Inspiron laptop and v305w together. The printer software was factory installed and did not come with a CD. I've upgraded the laptop from XP to Windows 7. I can download the driver and print but I do not have the Dell Toolbox application that I used to have which used to allow me to scan from the desktop, Any ideas as to where I can download this from?

treaney,
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Start, control panel, programs and features, Dell V305w Printer, uninstall
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on).
Links to the patch/drivers can be found at...

Hi,
Thanks for contacting the community.
I would suggest you to install all the windows updates from Microsoft and after that try to install the drivers from the below mentioned link:

Hi Prateek K,
I tried what you suggested but although I can print wirelessly I no longer have the Dell Toolbox application on my desktop which allowed me to scan from my desktop.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the reply.
I would like to inform you that I have forwarded your case to our engineering team and they have informed me that windows 8 web package will be available by end of this month, so I would suggest you to wait till that point of time and don’t make any changes .
Please reply if you have any further questions.
Thanks & Regards

Tom,
The Dell Imaging Toolbox is in the drivers package.
I would first run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue, then restart the computer.
I would then reinstall the pritner using the procedure below.
Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected to the computer.
Start, control panel, programs and features, Dell V305w Printer, uninstall.
Restart your computer. Make sure the pritner was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
With the computer online, insert the printer disk and follow the instructions. Select network, additional computer and follow the instructions.
If you don't have the printer disk, then try downloading the Vista drivers from the Dell V305 & V305w All-In-One Printer owners thread (W7) and install the Vista drivers in the Vista SP2 Compatibility mode

treaney,
Glad you got it working! :emotion-21: Thanks for posting back. To be able to scan/fax, you'll still need an OCR Program to install.
If you CLICK HERE, on the next page, start conversation with, we can discuss the OCR Program options there.
