Dell v305 not communicating with printer after windows 10 fall creator update version 1709

My Dell v305 printer will not work after downloading the fall creator's update v1709.

The trouble shooter claims it's a 2.0 to 3.0 bus problem.

I tried every remedy listed (approx. 20 hours) - drivers, compatibility, plus workarounds, etc.

I finally scaled back to the previous windows 10 version and everything worked fine.

I then reloaded the update through windows update and right back to not working and the same error message.

I have rolled back again and everything works fine again.

Have a couple more days before the 10 day download window.

ANY IDEAS?

Thanks,Rob

According to the 2008 V305 driver page, this nine year old printer was only validated/tested by Dell for the following operating systems =
Windows XP/Vista/2000/7/8

The fact that it worked in Windows 10 at all was chance. Read this article. Perhaps you can install the Windows 7 or 8 driver in compatibility mode.

It was a no go when I tried it.

Looks like I 'm going to have to buy a new AIO inkjet printer - any suggestions?

Sorry a little dyslexia - line 2  should read : The trouble shooter claims it's a 2.0 to 3.0 USB problem.

All of the currently selling ones support Windows 10.
