DELL PRINTER HOME DISAPPEARED!
Hello,
It began with the "printer cannot communicate with computer" and it took 3 days to finially get that solve. I had to uninstall old drivers , software, etc. When I reinstalled all of that, teh printer seems to work fine, but Dell Printer Home is only a logo now. I get a message that Windows is searching for it and that goes on for 20 minutes or more before I give up. A picture of the logo is all that comes up.
It's the V313w (not wireless) run on an Inspiron 560 running Windows7 (64-bit).

Dell Printer Home is in the Dell Drivers package.
Try this procedure and see if the printer installs.
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode you’ll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time (powered on).

Also turn off the balloon tips for the printer or you can not print multiple documents. They will stay in the printer queue until you restart your computer.
(Right click) Start, control panel, devices and printer, your printer, printing preferences, advanced, more options. Tell it to never show.

Hello Rick,
Thanks for replying so quickly. However , after having been up for 3 days to fix the thing, I'm very reluctant to uninstall again. Next time, I may not get it back . I guess I can live without DPH. But, I'll think about it and let you. Thanks again!

At least turn off the printers balloon tips or documents will get stuck in the queue. Then you'd have to restart the computer to finish printing the rest of the print job(s).
