Dell Photo All in One 964 - Compatibility with Windows 10 - 64bit
Hello,
I've just bought a new Dell Laptop and updated to Windows 10.
Unfortunally, my OS is unable to recognize the driver of my former Printer Dell Photo All in One 964.
I read all post about compatibility driver with this specific printer. I've tested procedure :
- delete printer
- install driver Windows Vista - 32bit or 64bit and put it in compatibility mode with Vista SP2 (also compatibility mode with Windows 7 and windows 8)
- connect the usb printer. But only the Scan is successfully installed.
any help will be really nice !
Many thanks

I installed driver R146813 and it worked fine, for both scanning and printing.
Make sure to first temporarily turn off your antivirus firewall before running the Setup.exe that comes with this driver. Finish the setup all the way, including printing the test page. Then turn the firewall back on afterwards.
The R146813 driver can be downloaded from www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails

Rég,
From the Announcement at the top of the page, Windows 10 Compatibility with Dell Printers
Dell suggests...
Installing Older Windows Printer Drivers in Windows 10
Try this procedure and see if the printer installs.
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Hit the Windows key and the x keys at the same time, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode you’ll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time (powered on).
Links to the drivers can be found at…

After chasing Dell's support site suggestions for a couple of days and finally being told by Dell Printer Support personnel that there were no drivers for the printer that would work for Windows 10 (none that would work at all), I followed the suggestion of holytamoley above and installed R146813 drivers. The printer now works like a charm on my new Inspiron with Windows 10. It is true that displaying the printer properties doesn't show all the options as when it was installed on a Vista machine, but printing and scanning work great. Just what I was expecting from the descriptions/instructions on the support site but the drivers indicated there never worked. The community forums such as this can be SO MUCH BETTER than the official support...

Hello,
I have a similar issue with a Pc. Not having much luck with it. Can you advise what driver to use as I have a 32 bit windows 10 operating system running on a x64 bit architecture ( under 4 gb ram) . Should I tuse the 32 bit driver or the 64 bit?

Thanks for the help.
Printing works fine but scanning doesn't work at all. I have a new HS gaming computer with a SSD. I have a Windows 10 64 bit system. I know it your fix worked for other windows 10 users.
Suggestions?

Nick64,
Did you install the OCR Program from the printer disk?
If you have the disk that came with the printer, then insert the Printer disk and stop it from running. Go to My Computer and double click on it. Look for the drive with the Dell disk in it. Right click on it, left click explore. Look for the OCR Folder. In the OCR Folder, there is an Abbyy Folder. Right click on setup.exe, that's in the Abbyy Folder and left click run as administrator. This will install the OCR program.

This solution totally worked....but only after turning off the anti-virus firewall, as instructed.
