Dell e525w scanned and copied documents has large black band
We have a Dell E525W printer which has worked fine for the past 8 months. Recently while scanning a document their appeared a large black mark down the right side of the document. We tried cleaning the glass surfaces, restarting and trouble shooting. Anything we scan or copy from the feeder to the flatbed has a black band down one side. This does not appear while printing a standard document.

I have the same issue. However, my large black, horizontal line has changed to just the words becoming horizontal lines in the space where the black vertical line was.

I have an e525w that is doing the exact same thing with almost no use on the printer. Very disappointing that the scanner being crap making the MF in this MFP worthless. No more Dell printers for me, should have learned my lesson after all the problems with my 3010cn.

Same issue here. Did anyone get a real fix from DELL? You know, besides the usual "your printer is out of warranty, but we will gladly you give you a discount on a new printer"...yada yada yada.

I am having the same issue; this only occurs when copying or scanning. Printing works fine. Dell???? This sounds like a manufacturer defect.

Hi,
Try cleaning the printer rollers/fuser (depending on the type of printer).
I have attached a picture below of how they look like, b
ut checkout the printer manual for further illustration.
