Dell E515dw bricked / no firmware

Hi,

We have a Dell E515dw. A firmware update was running as the printer got powered off. Now the printer won't start anymore. After power on the 3 button go on for about 2 seconds, the the printer rings once and that is - the display remains dark, nothing is working.

So the printer doesn't have a valid firmware / is bricked and seems to remain in bootloader mode. The printer connects via USB with VID_04F9&PID_0152, which is actually the Brother Maintenance USB driver. The E515dw is a clone of the Brother MFC-L2700DW. Thus I installed the Brother Maintenance USB driver.

How can I load a valid firmware in the printer? The official Dell firmware update tool doesn't work, because there is no E515dw connected, but a Brother Maintenance USB Printer. The Brother firmware update tool also doesn't work, because there is only the Brother Maintenance USB Printer.

For some Brother models people were able to rescue the printer with the Filedg32.exe tool from Brother. The problem is, that I cannot find neither the Dell nor the Brother firmware file (only firmware .blf). The way described in other forums for getting the blf firmware file from firmverup.brother.co.jp doesn't work for the MFC-L2700DW, because it is an older printer.

Does anybody know how to get and load the firmware file (not the automated firmware updater as .exe file)?
