Dell Color MFP H625CDW controller error firmware update
I have a Dell Color MFP H625CDW.
I tried to install a firmware, using the dell firmware update utility for this printer, but something went wrong.
Now the printer boots up with an error
"Controller Error 016-352"
"Press and hold power button to turn off......"
I've connected via USB and my computer can see the printer again.
The Firmware update utility does see the printer, even shows status as "not complete"
I tried to reflash the firmware, but it just sits at "Sending...Sending update data" I let it sit overnight, but no progress.
Is there another way to restore the firmware?
Help much appreciated as this printer is junk otherwise. :(

Uninstall the printer, disconnect from the computer and reboot and reinstall it.

I am having a similar problem. I download the latest "Dell Printer Update Tool.exe", select the network option, hit Add, enter the (verified) correct IPv4 address for my printer, but it does not seem to detect the printer. The Printer Name and Printer F/W fields are blank and the Status field says "Not complete." The refresh button does nothing.
Things I've tried.
- Waking printer manually with power button
- Unplugging and replugging printer power
- Various attempts to refresh and restart the update tool while doing the above
- Running the tool as administrator
- Adding the tool as an allowed app in the windows firewall
- Various compatibility troubleshooting options in Windows with the tool
Guess I'm stuck with an insecure printer firmware, then. Typical Dell quality.

To be clear, to fix this issue, I navigated to the web gui>Print Server SEttings> Print Server Settings tab (yes, again) > SNMP link towards the top > Check both SNMP v1/v2c and SNMP V3 boxes > Apply New Settings.
After doing this, the update tool worked immediately.

After two hours of messing with this printer, I found a solution. I had to go and enable both versions of SNMP in the web gui print server settings. Go figure. I still blame Dell for wasting my time with this and leaving me to trip through finding the solution. If SNMP is required, it should say so in the update tool or SOMEWHERE in the many support pages that I scoured looking for a solution.

I ran into this exact same error message after moving my printer and reconfiguring it to run wirelessly. The printer ran fine for a few months then began throwing a 016-352 controller error message on startup. After lots of research, I guessed it may be the wireless controller trying to initialize at startup and failing. I removed the side panel and located the W-LAN controller module. It is a plug and play connection. I disconnected the module and removed it from the printer. I made a long cat5 cable and reconnected the printer directly to my wifi router. Success. The printer came up first try and has been running great. Can't say this will fix the problem for anyone else but it worked for me. If you don't have the option of connecting your printer via ethernet cable to your router, you might have to replace the printer since the w-lan controller module is no longer manufactured.
